Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Team, to own, develop and optimise the provision of Business Insight and Reporting across departments using their BI platform, R scripts and statistics.

Key Requirements for this role:

  • Core skills are SQL 

  • R (preferred) or Python

  • Knowledge of data in/out of AWS Redshift & S3 / GCP Big Query

  • API experience - essentially connecting to a data source, bringing it in, cleaning and surfacing in a BI tool (in this case Looker)

  • Location: Able to work from home for now, with occasional travel or either London/Peterborough

As Senior Data Engineer you will provide in depth analysis of the company performance metrics, and use this data to suggest and implement optimisation strategies.

The Senior Data Engineer needs previous experience programming in SQL R; Python would be an advantage, have a good exposure to web analytic technologies such as Google Analytics.

You will be accustomed to surfacing data via API’s, transforming this data into analysis friendly assets and piping this data to backend BigData technologies such as BigQuery or Amazon Redshift.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • SQL, R, Python, Google Analytics, APis

  • Help build out cloud based infrastructure and pipelines. Integrating more data and surfacing it into BI tool that supports our clients products, services and brands.

  • Provide in depth analysis of company performance metrics, and use this data to suggest and implement optimisation strategies.

  • Collaborate with commercial, dev-ops, revenue and product teams in producing valuable tools and insight.

  • Work with the Lead Data Scientist to produce statistical models around prediction, recommendation, optimisation and classification.

As Senior Data Engineer you will require excellent communication skills, and work well with other departments and stakeholders.
